WELCOME TO THE KNIGHT CAFÉ

The Assumption Knight Cafe prides itself in providing balanced meals for students including a variety of entrees, fruits, vegetables and whole grain breads. We utilize the Offer vs. Serve system, where a student may choose items for their lunch from several different options. A lunch typically consists of one entrée, and up to three choices of side dishes, along with a carton of milk. Lunch prices for the 2012-2013 school year is $2.50/meal with a la carte snacks and beverage items offered at additional cost. Menus are posted in the cafeteria, on our website, and in the daily announcements.

Assumption follows a wellness policy for all foods served during the school day. All a la carte snacks and beverages follow the Iowa Healthy Kids Act, including items sold in vending machines. Our lunches meet the guidelines of the USDA and National School Lunch Program. If you believe you might qualify for free or reduced priced meals, we encourage you to complete an application which can be found here.

Our cafeteria uses a computerized payment system and each student is assigned a random PIN number that he/she inputs at the time of purchase. Cash is also accepted, but it is preferred to have accounts prepaid by sending cash or check to the school. Credit card payments are accepted at www.EZSCHOOLPAY.com and should be reflected in the student’s lunch account within fifteen minutes. You will need your student’s ID number (printed on the student’s schedule to the right of their name) to register for this service and there is a $4 fee per deposit. Students are notified when they have $10.00 or less remaining in their account and are encouraged to deposit additional funds. A student should not take their balance below zero. If a student finds themselves without funds to purchase a meal, they will receive a standard lunch that day only, and the $2.50 will be deducted from the next deposit made. Parents may review lunch account balances by using the EZSCHOOLPAY website, even if they choose to make their payments by cash or check.
