The fine arts department offers Elements of Theater, Elements of Theater II, Instrumental Music, A Cappella Chorus, Jazz Choir, MusicTheory I, Music Theory II, Art Foundations, Drawing/ Painting, Ceramics, Advanced Studio Art I, Advanced Studio Art II, Graphic Arts and Design, and Advanced Graphic Arts and Design. One full year of fine arts is required for graduation.

Melanie Wulfekuhle is in her 4th year Director of Bands at Assumption. She received her Bachelors in Music Education degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. Outside of school Melanie also teaches private piano and clarinet lessons.

Holly Secker comes to Assumption after teaching art at JFK for three years and working as a graphic designer for 24 years. Her son, Ben, his wife, Missy, and her granddaughter, Addison, live in East Moline. Her daughter, Martha, is in a Doctorate program studying Neuro-Psychology in the Chicago area. Ms. Secker enjoys spending time in her yard and taking walks with her Jack Russell Terrier, Leia. She is a big Chicago Cubs fan!

Ellen Williamson is in her 2nd year at Assumption High School. After receiving her Bachelors in Music Education at St. Ambrose University Ellen went on to earn her Masters of Music from Bowling Green University. In her free time, Ellen enjoys listening to live music, learning new instruments and spending time with her husband, Elliott. She is looking forward to a fabulous year with the choirs.
