Mr. Ben Sacco is in his 1st year at Assumption in the Math department and serves as assistant Varsity football coach. He graduated from St. Ambrose University, where he earned First Team All Conference Honors and Third Team All American Honors in football.

Mrs. Bridget Murphy, a ‘97 AHS graduate, is in her 7th year teaching at AHS. She is married to Kevin, and is advisor of the yearbook. Her free time is spent coaching softball at St. Ambrose University and enjoying time with her children: Madeline, Brian, Michael, and John.

Miss Kathryn Dempsey is in her 1st year at Assumption, after graduating with a degree in K-12 Mathematics Education in May.

Mrs. Susan Chanez is in her 15th year teaching Math at AHS. This year she is teaching Basic Geometry, Geometry, and Algebra I. When Susan is not at AHS, she enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and daughter, Stephanie.

The mathematics department teaches Math I, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Basic Geometry, Geometry, Algebra II, Honors Algebra II, Personal Finance, Topics in Algebra II, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics, Honors Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. Students may choose from a variety of course sequences based on their skill levels and college goals. Grade-school students may test into Algebra I and begin a college-preparatory sequence early.
