The Knight Beacon is published eight times per year by the Publications class. Students learn quickly in areas from photography to journalistic writing to graphic design. Each student contributes newspaper articles to each issue, and some students contribute additional work as section editors or as the head editor. Editors lay out spreads and pages, edit stories and photos, and even design graphic elements. The 2005-2006 Knight Beacon won third place in a national competition among high school newspapers for the March issue. This competition is held by the Knight Beacon's printing company, JS Printing.

The Accolade is published yearly by the Publications class. Each student works on a spread (two pages) for each of several deadlines throughout the school year. In order that the yearbook be printed in time for the end of the year, the class produces a separate supplement that covers spring sports, Prom, the spring musical, and so on. Working on the yearbook has more of a design component, since students must choose photos, caption them, and make the pages look interesting. The yearbook also has section editors and a head editor. All students in the Publications class work on both the Knight Beacon and the Accolade.

top of pageIn 2005-2006, the Publications class decided to take on one additional production: the DVD Slideshow. This is a compilation of photos taken throughout the year that were not used in the yearbook or supplement. There are five slideshows on the DVD, one for each grade and one of mixed grades.
