Each year, two blood drives take place at Assumption: one in the fall and one in the spring. Students on the blood drive committee are responsible for organzing these events, from recruiting donors to making sure students have enough cookies to eat to cleaning up after the drive is over.

In order to be inducted into Assumption's Pius XII chapter of National Honor Society, juniors and seniors must maintain a 3.5 GPA and demonstrate qualities of character, service, and leadership. In addition to the minimum ten hours of service per semester required for religion classes, NHS members perform an additional five hours of individual service per semester and participate in an annual group service project with all their fellow members. Juniors traditionally volunteer at JFK's Fun Night for their group project, while seniors help out in the children's area at the Festival of Trees.
The minimal criteria to apply for membership to join National Honor Society are the following:
SCHOLARSHIP: The student must be a junior or senior and have completed at least one semester at AHS. The cumulative Grade Point Average must be 3.500 or higher. The student must be currently enrolled in or have completed the following:
Math: Algebra II or Honors Algebra II
Foreign Language: French II or Spanish II
Science: Chemistry, Physics or Anatomy and Physiology.
SERVICE: The student will have to demonstrate that he or she has performed service at AHS as well as in the community.
LEADERSHIP: The student must demonstrate effective leadership of others.
CHARACTER: The student must demonstrate good character both at school and in the community.

Assumption's Red Cross Club works closely with the local Red Cross chapter in performing service projects in the Quad-City area and in raising money for various causes. Recent projects have included teaching Scrubby Bear Hand Washing to grade school children, hosting a trivia night to benefit victims of local disasters, and helping out at summer events through the chapter. Club leaders also meet with the leaders of other local Red Cross Clubs to promote effective practices and share project ideas.

As one of the school's largest organizations, Science Club is able to take on many projects throughout the year. Members recycle paper from each classroom, clean up a stretch of Kimberly Road as part of Highway Cleanup, participate in Scott County's water testing days, and much more. Highlights include 2005's "greenup" project, when the Science Club wrote a grant proposal to the Wrigley Company and was awarded one of nine grants nationwide. The $8,000 was used to clean up Credit Island, and this event attracted around 400 school and community volunteers.

These students are required to represent Assumption at all times. They travel to grade schools to talk to young children about their Assumption education. Often, student ambassadors celebrate Mass or do a craft with the youngsters. Ambassadors also lead tours around the school for visiting families and grade school classes, and any prospective student who wants to learn about the school may "shadow" one of the many student ambassadors.
