How are you connected to AHS?

I currently teach Junior Theology at Assumption.

What do you love most about working at Assumption?

We have Jesus.  What more could a girl ask for? Having the Real Presence of Jesus in our school chapel is an incredible privilege and one I am deeply grateful for. The hidden and humble Jesus of the Tabernacle is a constant reminder that we believe in a God that wants to be with us always.  Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the clearest indication of Assumption’s commitment to Catholic identity.

What are some things you enjoy doing in your free time?

Ah, free time.  My free time was joyously sacrificed the day I professed vows with the Franciscan Sister of Christ the Divine Teacher.  I have learned to remind myself that time is also a fellow creature of God, obedient to the Divine will.  God orders time so much better than I do – it is more fun to participate in His timeline rather than try to create my own!

What advice or encouragement do you have to share with current and future students?

I would say our students, current and future, desperately need to discover and form their ability to reason.  Part of what makes humanity different than animals is the gift of reason.  In this, we are capable of grasping truth.  Find the truth that is universal and eternal.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

Ps 89:16 – “Happy the people who know you, Lord, who walk in the light of your face.”
