The Davenport Public Library is excited to announce that we received the YALSA/Dollar General Summer Teen Intern Grant and will be offering to paid internships to local teens in Summer 2018!
These positions will be open to teens ages 16-19 and will offer a stipend of $500 for 50 hours of work. The two positions are a Social Media Intern and a Creative Literacy Intern and we are looking for teens who are confident in their creativity and online savviness.
Teens can apply online at the City of Davenport website: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/davenport?page=2.
After students submit their application, they will receive an email from the Library’s Human Resources Director with additional instructions. Social Media Intern applicants will be asked to submit some examples of social media posts that celebrate reading while Creative Literacy Intern applicants will be asked to create a plan for a bulletin board design that promotes reading in the summer. We ask Creative Literacy Interns to think outside of the box and all artistic expression is welcome (for example, those skilled in drawing or design might create a cool visual while a Poet might compose a poem or a dancer might somehow explore dance instruction, etc.)
