Instrumental music at Assumption aims to provide students with a wide variety of experiences. Registering for our band course means participating in both the marching and concert bands. These ensembles provide music for events such as home football and basketball games, three traditional concerts (held in our auditorium), the state large group festival, and many others. This also opens up the opportunity for students to pursue optional events such as honor bands, solo festivals, and All State.
Assumption’s instrumental offerings also an extra-curricular jazz ensemble which generally meets after school. While included in the same concerts as the concert band, our jazz group will also travel to several festivals throughout the year. While there are some exceptions in the rhythm section, participation in the jazz program is limited to those who are also registered for band course.
