The Assumption Visual Arts program covers a wide range of artistic expression.  Students explore art education hands on, with activities ranging from basic art foundations to drawing and painting to ceramics to graphic art and design. A college-level Art Appreciation class is offered to students who are interested in earning college credit as a part of their fine arts requirement.  Advanced art students have the ability to enter State competitions through the Iowa Art Educators. Students also have opportunities to participate and display in public such as QC Annual High School Art Competition and Bucktown Center for the Arts Pastel Competition. Students not active in art classes can still participate in Art Club. This organization extends the gift of artistic expression to a variety of service opportunities including but not limited to Festival of Trees, The Humane Society, Women’s Violence Shelter, and Assumption’s annual fundraiser, April Knight.
