Children’s Show This Weekend!

Come sing about love! Prepare Ye the Way for the Assumption Knight Players Children’s Show, Godspell Jr!

Godspell, the beloved classic from Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of Wicked, retells the greatest story ever told. Enjoy one of the most enduring shows of all time with an eclectic blend of songs ranging in style from pop to vaudeville. Join the celebration of kindness, tolerance, and friendship! Shows are at Assumption’s Sunderbruch Auditorium, 1020 W Central Park Ave, Davenport. Performances are Friday, December 6 at 6:30 PM and Saturday, December 7 at 2 PM and 6:30 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for Children and senior citizens, and $8 for students without an activity pass. Cash and check accepted at the door.

Assumption Knight Players to Present One Act Showcase

Join the Assumption Knight Players on Saturday at 7 PM and Sunday at 2 PM as they present a One Act Showcase at Assumption’s Sunderbruch Auditorium. There are six one act plays and one short film to be performed, all directed by student directors Miley Ashby, Ceci Booth, Adie Craig, Tatyana DelPreore, Lindsey Gerlach, Grace Hagerman, Charles James-Hoos, Wes Ossowski, and Emily Wichelmann. Miley Ashby, Ceci Booth, Lindsey Gerlach, and Wes Ossowski also wrote their original shows! Admission is $5 at the door and students with an activities pass get in for free.

The Assumption Knight Players Present Annie! This Weekend!

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Come see Annie at Assumption High School’s Sunderbruch Auditorium on March 3 and 4 at 7 PM and March 5 at 2 PM. Back Stage Angel Meeting – Drama Parents

Back Stage Angels are a group of drama parents who take care of many needs of our Assumption Knight Players throughout their season!

Please plan on joining us for a meeting in the AHS Choir Room on November 16th, at 7pm to learn more about ways we can make the season special for our thespians.  Our drama directors will be in attendance as well.

Welcome Ms. DeLacy – New Drama Director

Assumption High School is pleased to announce Steph DeLacy as Drama Director for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The multi-talented DeLacy directs, choreographs, and teaches musical theatre dance and tap at her Double Threat Studios in Bettendorf. She has choreographed over 30 musicals for Quad Cities’ schools and theatre troupes including Beauty and the Beast, Mamma Mia, Oklahoma!, and Les Miserables.

DeLacy graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Ambrose University with a B.A. in Theatre, and has choreographed 12 productions at Assumption, including Freaky Friday, The Sound of Music, Annie, and West Side Story. Her directorial credits include Newsies, High School Musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, and The Cat in the Hat.

She is currently the Student Leadership Director for Iowa Thespians, and also volunteers for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She resides in Davenport and will oversee the direction of Assumption’s Fall Play, Children’s Show, Spring Musical, and One Act Showcase.
