Thank you so much to all parents and students for your assistance with the transition of some of our attendance procedures since the start of this school year.  As a reminder, all attendance is now tracked through the Library and overseen by Mrs. Bridget Frieden.  If students arrive tardy, but prior to 8am, they should proceed directly to their 1^st period class.

All students are required to sign in and out at the Library desk if they are being called out of school or arriving late (anytime after 8am). If Mrs. Frieden has not heard from a parent or a doctor’s excuse is not provided when a student arrives during the school day, she will call the parent to make sure they are aware their student is arriving late.  You may call in, at 563-326-5313, and hit 1 for Attendance if you are reporting an absence, or if your student needs to be released for an appointment.  You may leave a voicemail there with your student’s name, date, and reason for being absent.  You may also communicate attendance issues via email to attendance@assumptionhigh.org.

If your student is leaving school early for any reason, please contact Mrs. Frieden to let her know, so when your student comes in, she knows they are to be leaving.  In order for a student absence to be considered excused, school policy requires a doctor’s note, a statement from a college for a college visit, or an internal communication that it is a school-approved event. Thank you for your help with our school attendance procedures!

If you have not gone in and updated your student’s information on JMC – health, car license information, any address changes – please do so as soon as possible.  You can do so by going on to the Assumption web site and click on “Student Information Update”.

Adoration is held every Tuesday after the 7:10 AM chapel mass.  This is a wonderful way to spend a little time with Jesus.

Catholic Service Board (CSB), a Catholic women’s organization that supports the Kahl Home for the Aged through volunteer activities and financial proceeds from the Cinderella Cellar resale shop, is seeking new members.  A new member informational coffee will be held Wednesday, January 17 at 9:30 AMat the Kahl Home, 6701 Jersey Ridge Road in Davenport.  For information and registration, please contact Kristyn Tjaden (563-340-8316) or kristyntjaden7@gmail.com

Father Leo (the cooking priest from Formed and the TV show Grace Before Meals) coming to cook/speak this Sunday, November 5^th at Our Lady of Lourdes 5:00 mass. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

 The Student Hunger Drive has begun. If you would like to make a monetary donation or donate cans, please bring in to the Front Office.  The Drive will continue until Thursday, November 9^th. Thank you for supporting Assumption High School’s efforts in this endeavor.

Assumption will again host a “Freshman Formal” on Saturday, November 11^th, from 7:00-10:00 PM in the Assumption cafeteria.  This non-dated dance is open only to 9^th graders who attend Assumption High School. Attire is expected to be similar to Homecoming or Turnabout, with girls having the opportunity to wear semi-formal dresses of appropriate length and modesty, and boys wearing shirts and ties.  (Any students who need assistance with acquiring the appropriate attire or with purchasing a ticket should see Mrs. Murphy or Mr. Frieden, as we have means in place to make sure that financial barriers will not prevent any student from attending this fun event.)  Check-in will begin at 7:00 PM dinner (unlimited gourmet brick-oven pizzas) will be served all throughout the event, and music and dancing will be sure to keep the event enjoyable for all.  Students needing to leave prior to 9:30 will need parent/guardian verbal (via phone) or written (via note or email) permission.  Student Council members will be selling tickets during lunches on October 25, 26, and 27^th, for $20 per person.
