Forty 42 classmates and 14 guests of the Class of 65 celebrated their 60th reunion on October 9, 2025 with cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres at Palmer Grill following a golf outing at Palmer Hills Golf Course. In case you’re wondering if you will still be swinging a club at age 78, 13 of these reunion goers took up that challenge, and according to self-reporting, many were still swinging quite well, and all were having fun!
To celebrate and commemorate their most recent class reunion, the Class of 1965 is eager to take the lead as they create THE REUNION DONATION CHALLENGE! This challenge is issued to all AHS graduating classes – in the years of their class reunions. Co-chair Jim Lunardi said, “The Class of ’65 is very excited to create and lead the Reunion Donation Challenge. We already have 6 co-chairs and 11 additional members on our donation committee. If any classmate is financially unable to contribute, please call or text Jim Lunardi, at 508-482-5554, and we will put in a 560 donation under your name. We are striving for 100% participation now and every 5 years going forward. Let’s hope we are starting a new tradition of giving at AHS that will live on forever!”
Here’s how it works: As envisioned by the Class of ’65, members donate to their reunion challenge in an amount equal to or greater than the class reunion they are now celebrating. Alums celebrating their 5th year reunion (Class of 2020) would donate $5, those celebrating their 10th year (Class of 2015) would donate $10 and so on – which means those donating on their 60th reunion would contribute $60.
The AHS Annual Report already has a tradition of listing class giving for the previous year. Wouldn’t it be great if there were large numbers of alums listed below each of the reunion anniversary classes? Why not add to the competition and see which reunion class can get the greatest percentage of living classmates donating to their reunion challenge when their turn comes? This will give our youngest alums an opportunity to compete in another way.
The Class of ’65 will be keen competitors. They already have a group of “early bird” donors that kicked off their challenge. One of their classmates has assured a minimum total contribution from their class of $10,000.
Important: Whether you already support the Annual Fund, or if you plan to be a new donor, no need to designate your gift as being a part of the challenge.
All gifts from your classmates will be listed & counted toward the challenge.
