Service Hours – Volunteers Needed at Masses – January 26 and 27, 2019

Are you looking for service hours? In anticipation of Catholic Schools Week next week, we are looking for students/families to represent Assumption at each of this weekend’s Masses (January 26/27) at our supporting parishes. The job is simple- hand out “thank-you” flyers as parishioners exit Mass. The sign-up timeframes list the Mass times at each parish, so volunteers should expect to stay 15-20 minutes after Mass to complete the service opportunity.  The purpose of the flyer is to express appreciation to the community for its ongoing support of Catholic education at Assumption High School and to invite them to this Sunday’s AHS Senior Spaghetti Supper. The meal is complimentary, and is held from 4-7 pm in the Assumption cafeteria. This year marks the 60th year of this annual tradition of senior service to our school community!

Please click on the signup below to commit to passing out flyers at a given Mass. A single student name can be entered (the student’s siblings and/or parents are welcome to assist with covering the multiple exits of the church), or a few students can sign up together. Each Mass a student covers will count for 1 hour of service for the AHS service log.  Students are allowed to cover multiple Masses at their parish, if desired.  Flyers will be distributed to students covering the first Mass at each parish on Friday, January 25th, in the front office.  (Students covering subsequent Masses should look for the flyers in a cardboard flat in a back center pew of the church.)

Please consider helping with this appreciation effort. We are so grateful to our wider Assumption Community, and without this support, the education at Assumption High School would not be possible. Happy Catholic Schools Week 2019!
