Senior Picnic – Sunday, August 14 – Reminder

In an effort to celebrate our incoming senior class and pray for their leadership in the coming school year, all seniors and their parents/guardians will join for a potluck in the school cafeteria on Sunday, August 14th, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Families with last names beginning with A-M are asked to bring a side dish to share and N-Z a dessert. Deli sandwiches will be provided by AHS. Dress is casual. We invite seniors and their parents to please join this gathering as we kick-off the year with a blessing of the Class of 2023!

Freshman and New Student Orientation – Reminder

Orientation will be held Tuesday, August 16th. All incoming freshmen and new/transfer students are required to be present from 2-5pm. Students are asked to be in dress code for orientation. The student-only portion of the day will be devoted to meeting teachers, learning student schedules, accessing lockers, and familiarizing students with lunch procedures. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to arrive at 5:00pm for an opportunity to get more parent-directed orientation information in the AHS Auditorium. This evening portion is intended for students and their parents to have the opportunity to not only feel comfortable with a variety of school personnel, but to also connect with future classmates and their families. A picnic dinner will be provided by AHS in the school cafeteria following the parent presentation. Contact Mrs. Stephanie Schroeder, Director of Admissions, at stephanie.schroeder@assumptionhigh.org if you have any questions.

Mike Rowe Foundation – Work Ethic Scholarship

We’re giving away $1,000,000 for this year’s Work Ethic Scholarship Program. Through this program, we recognize people who understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude. These are hardworking men and women who will keep the lights on, water running, and air flowing. These are people who show up early, stay late, and bust their asses day in and out. It’s not for everyone. Hard workers are hard to find, but we know you’re out there.

AHS Looking for Willing Families to Host NET Members

Happy Friday!

It’s that time of year again, the class retreats are a little under a month away.

I know most have not been making plans past the immediate future, but if you happen to be thinking ahead, please consider asking your family if they are willing to be a HOST family for the NET team that will be here the first week of May. NET stands for the National Evangelical Team, which consists of college students ages 19-24 that are taking a year off school to spread their love and knowledge for Christ.

If your family has done this in the past, or you think it is something they are interested in, please don’t hesitate to show them this email!!!

I am currently looking for willing families to host two or more NET members on the following dates:

May 3rd (pick-up from Assumption High School in the evening , provide dinner and lodging.)

May 4th retreat day for AHS senior students (Host family will drop-off in AM, provide dinner and lodging in evening)

May 5th retreat day for AHS sophomore students  ( Host family will drop-off in AM, provide dinner and lodging in evening)

May 6th retreat day for AHS freshmen students (Host family will drop-off in AM)

For more information, please do not hesitate to ask! natalie.imborek@assumptionhigh.org

Typically, I request that host families provide a bed for each member they are hosting. I am available to get team members back to your house in the afternoon, if you can drop them off at AHS the mornings of the retreats.

Thank you!
