Junior Achievement Titan Competition

Congratulations to JA Advisor Mr. Hale, Andi Marzen, Garrett Hurt, Anna Nagle and Emma VanSeveren on taking first place in the Junior Achievement Titan Competition held Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Saint Ambrose University.  The Assumption High School Marketing and Advertising team outperformed business class representatives from other MAC schools to move on to the Scholarship Round Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Palmer Center for Business Development on the Palmer College campus.  There they will compete with other Iowa and Illinois champions for $8,000 in scholarships.

Service Hours – All Saints – November 2 & 3

Holy Family Church and All Saints Catholic School will hold their annual bazaar from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 3rd at the school. The bazaar is one of the big yearly fundraisers for the school. Several volunteers are needed to make this event a success. After school on Friday, November 2nd volunteers are needed to help setup and price baked goods. On Saturday, volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to work the kitchen, bake sale and checkout. Volunteers also are needed from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday for cleanup and tear down. Donations of crafts, Once Again Treasure items and bake sale items also would be appreciated and can be dropped off after school on Friday. Fall Play – Clue – Friday, Saturday, Sunday

The Assumption Knight Players’ performances of Clue, will be this weekend, October 12th & 13th at 7:00 p.m. and October 14th at 2:00 p.m. Join the iconic oddballs known as Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.

General admission tickets will be available at the door.

MVRBC – Blood Donations

On September 4, 2018 we held our first Blood Drive of the school year. We provided 31 donations for local hospitals.  Each whole blood donation can be processed into multiple blood components, so our blood drive provided up to 124 products for patients in need.

Thank you to all who gave blood to provide lifesaving products to hospitals throughout the region.

Parent/Teacher Conferences -Thursday, October 4th – 3:30-7:00 PM

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 4th in the Cafeteria from 3:30-7:00 PM.  Parents can come to the Café during that time to meet with their students’ teachers. No appointment is necessary, as conferences are held on a drop-in basis. Individual meetings will be conducted every 5 minutes, as indicated by the bell system in the Café. Parents anticipating the need for more extensive communication with a particular instructor are encouraged to contact the teacher directly to set up an appointment outside of conferences.
