Service Hour Opportunities

If anyone is needing service hours, or would just like to help out, we have someone looking for help with raking her lawn.  If anyone is interested, please contact:  Mrs. Lisa Schwanz, 563-320-9457.

Volunteers are needed for the JDRF Walk on Saturday, May 5th.  Check-in volunteers need to be 18 years of age, but there are plenty of other opportunities, such as manning inflatables, kids activities, walk route cheering and wearing mascot costumes. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.

National Speaker:  Silent Strength – April 26th and 27th – All are welcome!

National speaker Doug Reavis will share his Silent Strength presentation with Assumption students on Thursday, April 26th, from 12:30-2:00 in the Assumption Auditorium.  A parent presentation will be held that same evening from 6:30-8, also in the AHS auditorium. Please encourage any members of the Assumption Family and beyond to benefit from this powerful, and personal story of faith.  The Silent Strength message centers on kindness and, in faith-based settings, seeing God in every other person. It has been said that Mr. Reavis gives the best anti-bullying message out there without ever using the word “bullying.”  Assumption is excited to host all 6th-8th grade students from the Catholic elementary schools for a middle school presentation on Friday, April 27th, from 12:45-2:15.  Please mark your calendars to attend this great parent opportunity, and invite a friend (or several) to join you!  We can all benefit from the inspiration this presentation has to share.

Assumption Art Club News

A big thank you goes out to Assumption Art Club for service projects completed. Students created kite props for St.Paul’s musical Mary Poppins. Students also painted an Assumption-themed bags game donated from Mr. Dave Simpson to April Knight. Art Club members who worked on the projects included: Kenneth Nguyen, Marissa Shell, Alexisciel Dinh, Hannah Lerch and Amanda Herrington.

April Knight was also the benefactor of a couple more artistic endeavors. Gracie Miller beautifully painted a round serving platter in a floral bouquet theme. Advanced Graphic Art students Marissa Shell, Pamela Moya and Trenton McDonough teamed up to create a 3-D printed chess set which was auctioned off at April Knight as well.

Thank you to all these creative students who donated their time and talents to worthy causes.
