April Knight FUNdraiser – Calling for Hosts

Calling for Hosts:  The Parents of each grade-level class at Assumption hold a social FUNdraiser during the school year.   The purpose is two-fold, an opportunity to meet other parents and raise money to purchase a gift donated to the April Knight Auction.  The adults-only party is a relaxed, casual and social atmosphere.   All class parents are invited to attend with a per person suggested donation.

Any parent wanting to can become a “Party Host”  which involves an additional financial support to underwrite the cost of the party.  This will be $100 total.  All monies raised go to April Knight/Assumption High School.   All areas of the school – academics, athletics, fine arts, technology, tuition and special projects are supported by April Knight – ALL students benefit.  Please contact Susie Foster if you are interested or have any quesitons:  susie.foster@assumptionhigh.org or 563-326-5313 x 281       Thank you!

Parent Prayer Hour- AHS Chapel

Extended to ALL parents is an INVITATION to come together for an HOUR OF PRAYER every Thursday morning at 9AM in the beautiful AHS Chapel!   Originated 8 years ago, the chapel continues to gather parents & AHS community supporters to lift to God our students, alumni, staff & extended community through the rosary and other prayers.  Each student in the school is prayed for often  & specifically by name.  Students’ petitions submitted anonymously into the school’s “Prayer Boxes” are read out loud and prayed for.  Please note that there is no obligation for your attendance every week—all “prayer warriors” are welcome whenever it works for your schedule!  If you have petition requests, but are unable to attend, please provide your prayer request to  one of our prayer leaders: Joanie Vonderhaar (563) 505-5420 or Laurie Verdi (563) 505-5189.

New Phone System

We had a new phone system installed this summer at Assumption. Something new to the system is if you know your party’s 3 digit extension, you need to dial 9 and then the 3 digit extension.  That is now at the beginning of the recording, but people are used to just dialing the 3 numbers, and it will not go directly to who you are trying to reach unless you dial 9 first.
