Prom Update Letter and Post Prom Sign-up
Student Council members will be selling tickets during lunches until Friday May 3rd for $40 per person in order to provide everyone the opportunity to attend.
If your student would like to bring a guest from another school, they need to see Mr. Frieden for the proper dance guest permission form. Please choose your attire with a standard of modesty in mind. Any students who need assistance with acquiring appropriate attire or with purchasing a ticket should see Mrs. Murphy or Mr. Frieden, as there are means in place to make sure that financial barriers do not prevent any student from attending this fun event.

Prom/Post Prom – Saturday, May 4, 2019 Modern Woodmen Park/Assumption Gymnasium
Promenade Instructions: Promenade begins at 6:00 p.m. at the stadium. Students wishing to participate may line up on the upper walkway inside the stadium beginning at 5:30 p.m. Seating will be available in Section 9 of the stadium for parents, family, and friends who wish to attend Promenade.
Pre-Prom Mass: In an effort to make fulfilling the Sunday Mass obligation easier for students with the timing of the scheduled events, Mass (for students and chaperones only) will be celebrated at the stadium immediately following the Promenade. We are fortunate to have this opportunity, and we embrace the time to celebrate Mass together on this special evening.
Dance and Dismissal: Immediately following the Pre-Prom Mass, sign-in will open and the professional photographer will be available for pictures. Students must be signed in on site no later than 7:00 p.m. Prom will include dinner and dancing until 11:00 p.m. Students may not leave the dance earlier than 10:30 p.m. All clothing, dancing, and behavior must remain appropriate. Prom is an extension of the academic setting, and high expectations will be maintained.
Post Prom: For accountability purposes, all students who attend Prom are expected to attend Post Prom at Assumption. Written parental permission to be excused from Post Prom (in full or in part) may be submitted to the school office by Thursday, May 2nd. If this written permission is not on file at school, and a student who attended Prom does not show up to Post Prom, a parent/guardian will be called. Post Prom will open at 10:30 p.m. All junior and senior students, regardless of whether or not they attended the dance, are invited and encouraged to attend Post Prom. There is no cost to attend Post Prom. Students must arrive at Post Prom no later than 11:30 p.m. Students will be able to use locker room facilities at Assumption to change clothes after the dance, if needed. Students may not leave Post Prom (without prior written permission) until its completion at 2:30 a.m.
***Post Prom Donation Request: Post Prom is a fun, substance-free after prom party that is held at the school and hosted by the Knight Network parent organization. This portion of the evening allows students to continue their Prom celebration in a fun but supervised environment.
As you might expect, making this event fun for students requires financial support. Please know that we are extremely grateful for your support of the Knight Network parent organization in all capacities throughout the year. If you are able to provide any additional support for efforts regarding Post Prom, please prayerfully consider doing so. Gifts to this effort are tax-deductible and go toward supplying entertainment, food, and prizes for this fun student event. Checks may be made payable to Assumption High School and dropped off at the AHS front office or sent to: Assumption Post Prom, Attn: Shelli Miller, 1020 West Central Park Avenue, Davenport, Iowa, 52804. Assumption parents are a key element within the quality high school educational experience of our students. Thank you for your support of Knight Network! ATTENTION ANYONE WILLING TO HOST TEAM MEMBERS
Our formal speaker for the freshmen and senior retreats had to cancel last minute, so we had to reschedule our Freshman and Senior retreats and find an alternative.
Luckily, NET members were able to reassemble and they will be here on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
If any one is willing to host NET members next week (Monday and Tuesday night) please let me know as soon as possible. They will get in Monday night and leave Wednesday after the second retreat.
Thank you!
