Monday, September 28

  • Regular Schedule – Out of Uniform – Pajama Day ($3.00)
  • Decorate doors with Homeroom classes
  • Door decoration judging to be done 7th Period – winning homerooms receive donuts on Friday
  • Homecoming tickets sold at lunch ($20 per person)
  • Seniors vote for Homecoming Court

Tuesday, September 29

  • Regular Schedule – In Uniform
  • Homecoming Tickets sold at lunch ($20 per person)

Wednesday, September 30 

  • Mass Schedule – Free Out of Uniform – Homeroom T-Shirts w/ PE Shorts or Uniform bottoms
  • Homecoming Tickets sold at lunch ($20 per person)
  • Seniors vote for Homecoming King and Queen
  • Over-Under/Tug of War Competition (Homeroom) in Large Gym
  • 6:30 Powder Puff Football Game- Junior Girls vs. Senior Girls (Jack and Pat Bush Stadium)

Thursday, October 1

  • Mass Schedule (In Uniform) – Homecoming Mass in the Auditorium 12:25 p.m.
  • Court Dresses up for official 2026 Homecoming Court photo following Mass
  • Homecoming Tickets sold at lunch ($20 per person)
  • 6:30 p.m. Public Pep Rally in the AHS Large Gym. Admission $2 or 3 cans (Non-perishable food donations will be collected by the Student Council for the River Bend Food Bank.)
  • Dancing with the Studs, Homecoming Court introductions, and crowning of the King/Queen

Friday, October 2

  • Regular Schedule – Out of Uniform – Jersey Day ($3.00)
  • Door decoration winners get donuts during Homeroom
  • Homecoming Tickets sold at lunch ($20 per person)
  • Football at Jack and Pat Bush Stadium vs. Maquoketa (Freshman/Sophomore 5:00, Varsity 7:15)
  • Homecoming Banner Showcase at halftime following marching band performance

Saturday, October 3

  • 8:00pm – 10:00pm Homecoming Dance in the AHS Cafeteria.

Event Policies:

  • Students are expected to arrive within 30 minutes of the starting time.
  • Students are to be in attendance until the last 30 minutes of the event unless parent notification is made to school officials.
  • When a student leaves the event, he/she must leave the school and cannot return. All dress must be modest, appropriate, and respectful.
  • All dancing must be appropriate for a Catholic educational setting. Students not meeting this expectation may be asked to leave the event, and parents will be notified.

Out of Uniform Note:

  • Students will pay for out of uniform during lunch periods (Student ID cards with out of uniform icon count for this), and hand stamps will be checked in 5th hour classes.
  • Students who do not have proper out of uniform verification will be issued Dress Code violations.
  • Day-specific hand stamps will be used to serve as a pass. The daily hand stamp must be shown to the student’s 5th hour teacher whenever out of uniform.
  • Out of uniform collections during Homecoming Week will benefit AHS student clubs and activities. Help AHS in supporting this worthy cause!

The Quad City and Engineering Science Council (QCESC) Scholarship

The Quad City and Engineering Science Council (QCESC) Scholarship Program was established and is administered by the Council. This program provides multiple one-time grants or scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 each. Must plan to pursue a STEM-related degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) at an accredited four-year college or university, earn an associate degree at a community or junior college, or complete a skilled trades certification.

Elks 2027 Most Valuable Student (MVS) Scholarship

Lois E. Kindel, Iowa State Elks Association Scholarship Chair | Davenport Elks Lodge #298 | Davenport, IA 

Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

Eligibility:

    • Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
    • Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
    • High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
    • Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
    • Scholarships are available only to students who enroll in four-year undergraduate degree programs at accredited U.S. American colleges or universities.

The 2027 application deadline is November 12, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time.

Awards:

    • The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships.
    • Male and female students compete separately.
    • Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

Declan Murphy named as a National Merit Semifinalist

This prestigious honor recognizes Declan as one of the top scorers for the Class of 2027 and is a significant step toward the National Merit Scholarship competition.  Congratulations to Declan and his family!
