Private and public colleges, universities and technical schools will assemble for the area’s largest college fair –
The Iowa Quad Cities College Fair 2025
Monday, October 20 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
St. Ambrose University Rogalski Center
The fair, sponsored by the Iowa Quad Cities College Program (IQCCP), is free to the public.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with admissions representatives and learn more about admissions requirements, financial aid, course offerings, and campus life.
The fair is open to all high school students and their families, whether attending an Iowa Quad Cities school or another school outside the immediate area, as well as those across the river in Illinois.
The Quad Cities College Fair 2025 is organized by Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, St. Ambrose University and the Quad Cities area high schools including Assumption, Bettendorf, Davenport Central, Davenport Mid-City, Davenport North, Davenport West, North Scott and Pleasant Valley.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY – HOBY
FOR SOPHOMORES ONLY!
Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is a dynamic, interactive educational program designed to prepare our country’s youth to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community. Outstanding sophomore students who attend this three-day seminar will interact with leaders in business, government, education, media, and non-profits; they get a realistic look at our nation, its people, and their role within the world community.
The HOBY Leadership Seminar will be held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, June 5-7, 2026. The Davenport Noon Optimist Club is sponsoring two students from Assumption High School by paying the $355.00 registration fee. To find out more, visit www.hoby.org/students.
If you are interested in representing Assumption High School as a HOBY Ambassador and can attend the leadership seminar in June of 2026, please apply by submitting an essay on leadership. Two Assumption High School sophomore students will be selected based on the criteria as outlined by Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership: exhibits potential for, or has demonstrated use of communication, critical thinking, strong decision making, creative problem solving, sensitive to others, interest in community service.

In 200 words or less, please describe the last leadership role you were involved in and explain the challenges you faced and the reward you gained.

ACT Test Date/Registration
JUNIORS are strongly encouraged to take the ACT by the end of your junior year.
- ACT CLUB: Why not build your ACT knowledge, confidence, and understanding a little bit each week instead of cramming right before the test? ACT club takes only twenty minutes, and we finish so early, you won’t even have to miss practice! Testing is timed, and students are assisted in improving their testing speed. When time is up, either Mrs. Smyth, Mrs. Wallace, or Mr. Buchanan is available to answer questions and help students analyze their answers. ACT club meets TUESDAYS from 2:50 to 3:30. It is important to show up to ACT Club as frequently as possible before you take the ACT test.
