Student Virtus Educational Training

Attention all AHS Parents,

We want to be sure you are aware of the efforts being made at Assumption and throughout the Diocese of Davenport to assure students are educated with regard to personal safety, self-respect, and appropriate boundaries.  For a number of years, the Virtus program has been implemented for all employees and volunteers in our schools and parishes.  This year, a student education program through Virtus is being instituted at all grade levels as well.  The plan for implementation at Assumption High School is to integrate the training (1 45-minute session each semester) into our Theology courses. If you would like to view the specifics of the program, please contact Natalie Imborek, Assumption Campus Minister, at natalie.imborek@assumptionhigh.org.  An opt-out form is attached to this post if you prefer your student be excluded from this educational programming.  Please submit all completed forms to Mrs. Imborek via email (or drop off in the AHS front office) no later than Monday, September 24th at 3pm.  Thanks so much for your partnership in student education and safety.

Calling for Hosts:  The Parents of each grade-level class at Assumption hold a social FUNdraiser during the school year.   The purpose is two-fold, an opportunity to meet other parents and raise money to purchase a gift donated to the April Knight Auction.  The adults-only party is a relaxed, casual and social atmosphere.   All class parents are invited to attend with a per person suggested donation.

Any parent wanting to can become a “Party Host”  which involves an additional financial support to underwrite the cost of the party.  This will be $100 total.  All monies raised go to April Knight/Assumption High School.   All areas of the school – academics, athletics, fine arts, technology, tuition and special projects are supported by April Knight – ALL students benefit.  Please contact Susie Foster if you are interested or have any quesitons:  susie.foster@assumptionhigh.org or 563-326-5313 x 281       Thank you!
