The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Rock Island Post, has a scholarship trust fund to encourage and support talented students in their pursuit of careers in engineering and the physical sciences. This year, SAME is offering a combination of one-year, two year, and four-year scholarships to qualified students who are pursuing a baccalaureate degree in these fields. In addition, at least one Need-Based Scholarship is also being offered. Applicants should indicate on the application which category (.or categories) they wish to be considered for. Multiple one-year and two-year scholarships will be awarded at the $1,500 and $3,000 ($1,500 per year for two years) levels respectively to a combination of graduating high school seniors and student members of the University of Iowa SAME Student Post. SAME will award the scholarships to the students who best fit the enclosed criteria. In selecting scholarship recipients, graduating high school seniors and University of Iowa SAME Student Post members will be ranked separately. Four-year scholarships will be awarded at the $6,000 level ($1,500 per year for four years) to graduating high school seniors. SAME will award the scholarships to high school seniors who best fit the enclosed criteria.

This is only for families who are new to Scott County Catholic Schools. If a parent has ever had a student enrolled in an SCCS school, you are considered a returning family, even if the student you are applying for is new to SCCS.

To re-enroll a student for the 2026-2027 school year by completing the Annual Information Update, please visit https://apply.sccsiowa.org/.
Select the “I have an enrolled student at SCCS” tab. Your PowerSchool parent username and password are used to login to complete the re-enrollment Information Update. Please note that this update must be completed for each student in a family that is re-enrolling in an SCCS school. Iowa’s Educational Savings Account (ESA) Families (All Iowa Residents)
ESA for 2026-2027 – The State of Iowa uses a program called Odyssey for processing all ESA information. For the 2026-2027 school year, all families that reside in Iowa will be eligible for this tuition assistance.
We will hold a boys and girls track and field student/parent meeting on Monday, February 9th at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. If you are interested in participating in the 2025-2026 season, please plan to attend the meeting.

The Perry Outreach Program is offering a free, one-day, hands-on experience to encourage youth to pursue careers in medicine and engineering. Students will hear from leaders in these fields and try it for themselves by performing mock orthopedic surgeries and biomechanics experiments.

Participants should be in high school (Grades 10 and up) with a passion for science, medicine and/or engineering. Although The Perry Initiative welcomes all students to apply to the program so long as they are committed to our mission.

St. Paul the Apostle Future Club is offering a scholarship for a graduating senior who attended St. Paul the Apostle School, and who is planning to attend a college or university. You must include a typewritten essay entitled “What My Catholic Education Has Meant to Me” (maximum 1,000 words). The Selection Committee will review all applications and essays. The scholarship is not renewable. All applications must be received at SPS by Monday, March 31. No late applications will be accepted.
We are proud to announce an amazing performance by our Academic Decathlon team at the recent Regional Academic Decathlon competition.
Our team competed at Grundy Center High School against strong schools from across Iowa, demonstrating exceptional academic skill, teamwork, and dedication & earning 2nd place overall in the Small Schools category!
Declan Murphy, Noah Fetterer, Elijah Milton, Evan Wilson, and Natalie Stombaugh competed in the Honors category. Ryan Bang and Devin Diaz competed in the Scholastic category, & Trevor Gray and King Goodwin competed in the Varsity category. Our cumulative team scores resulted in an outstanding 2nd -place finish!
