Fight the New Drug Presentation – December 5th – Solon, IA

Put the Fight the New Drug Presentations on your Calendar:  December 5th at the Solon HS Performing Arts Center.

We’re not talking about Opiod or Heroin use – but something equally addictive and destroying far more lives: pornography.

What is the problem with porn?   Many don’t realize viewing pornography rewires the brain, forming addictions and affecting behavior. One needs increasingly violent and perverse porn to feed the addiction.  It is contributing to depression, anxiety, academic and emotional struggles on a wide scale – across all demographics of teens. It teaches them to objectify and use others. It affects their ability to have authentic relationships.  It leaves them feeling confused, helpless and alone. It is harming those caught in the industry. It is driving human trafficking and other violent acts of crime.

It is a wide-scale concern: There are 42 million porn sites – with millions of videos free for a click of the mouse. 76% of porn is assessed on mobile devices. More than 90% of those ages 12-17 have been exposed to hardcore pornography. Once they’re exposed, many keep coming back.

The porn industry will do whatever it takes to keep them coming back. It is an industry that brings in more revenue than the National Football League, Major League Baseball and National Basketball Association combined. They’ll create whatever type of porn is necessary to trap people in the darkness of their abyss.

Ok, What can we do?  Get it on your calendar & invite everyone you know to join you on December 5th. Our parents and young people deserve an opportunity to be informed: to learn about porn’s harmful effects on their brain, heart and world. To be equipped with ways to protect themselves, to be empowered to talk without shame and to get free-access to help if struggling with an addiction.
