Baccalaureate – Sunday, May 25, 2025, 3:00 p.m. Sacred Heart Cathedral

In an effort to reserve as much of the parking at and near the cathedral for family and friends in attendance, seniors will gather at Assumption prior to Baccalaureate. As typical, faculty should be ready to line up at the side outdoor entrance to the cathedral at 2:30 p.m. Seniors will wear their graduation robes for the Baccalaureate Mass. Faculty will wear their black robes and white stoles for both Baccalaureate and Graduation. Seniors will be bussed back to Assumption following the Mass to prepare for graduation.

Youth Retreat Day – June 7th

Our Lady of Guadalupe in Silvis is hosting a “Be Not Afraid, Be You!” retreat day on June 7th. Real Choices educators are partnering with other Catholic experts to provide educational sessions about relationships, health, internet safety, gender, and the Catholic perspective on all these issues.

This retreat day is for youth 7th-12th grade AND THEIR PARENTS! 😊 Parents will attend some of the sessions with their child and others will be done separately. While their children are in their separate sessions, parents will get the chance to gather knowledge, tools, and strategies for continuing the conversation about these important issues in the home.

Prom/Post Prom 2025

Saturday, May 10th, 2025         Rhythm City Casino/Assumption Gymnasium

Promenade Instructions: Promenade begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Quads Room. Students wishing to participate may line up there on the inside wall beginning at 5:30 p.m.  As usual, limited seating will be available for parents, family, and friends who wish to attend Promenade.

Pre-Prom Mass: In an effort to make fulfilling the Sunday Mass obligation easier for students with the timing of the scheduled events, Mass (for students and chaperones only) will be celebrated at Rhythm City immediately following the Promenade. We are fortunate to have this opportunity, and we embrace the time to celebrate Mass together on this special evening.

Dance and Dismissal: Immediately following the Pre-Prom Mass, sign-in for Prom will open outside the Davenport Room.  Students must be signed in on site no later than 7:30 p.m.  Prom will include dinner and dancing until 10:00 p.m.  Students may not leave the dance earlier than 9:30 p.m. All clothing, dancing, and behavior must remain appropriate.  Prom is an extension of the academic setting, and high expectations will be maintained.

Post Prom: For accountability purposes, all students who attend Prom are expected to attend Post Prom at Assumption.  Written parental permission to be excused from Post Prom (in full or in part) may be submitted to the school office by Thursday, May 8th. Post Prom will open at 10:00 p.m. All junior and senior students, regardless of whether or not they attended the dance, are invited and encouraged to attend Post Prom.  There is no cost to attend Post Prom. Students must arrive at Post Prom no later than 10:30 p.m. Students will be able to use locker room facilities at Assumption to change clothes after the dance, if needed. Students may not leave Post Prom (without prior written permission) until its completion at approximately 12:30 a.m.
