What’s Happening at AHS

THIS WEEKEND – 61st Annual Senior Class Spaghetti Supper: 4-7pm in the AHS Cafeteria

ALL ARE WELCOME!  Please join us this Sunday, January 26, 2020, in the Assumption High School Cafeteria.  Drop in anytime between 4 – 7 p.m. for the annual Senior Spaghetti Supper! Your attendance and support are greatly appreciated. This event is our special gift to the Assumption Community.

The meal includes salad, spaghetti, bread, drink, and dessert. Meals are complimentary, and Rev. Louis Colonnese’s sauce recipe (used at the first AHS Spaghetti Supper in 1960) is the secret! Take-out orders will be packaged upon request. Please help the Assumption Class of 2020 in this service effort. The class is attempting to raise funds to give a gift back to the school upon graduation. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Formed.org: Current parents – join your students in studying our faith!

Assumption High School has recently purchased access to the web resources at formed.org.  This site has a wealth of information in the form of books, videos, articles, etc.  Students will be utilizing the site for their spring Faith Seminar course, but the potential for learning and growth goes far beyond the application to this class.  We encourage all current parents to set up an account and begin utilizing this awesome resource.  Virtually any topic you might want to learn more about in reference to our faith is available.  All faculty, staff, students, and current parents are included in our subscription and are eligible to sign up for an account.  The other cool thing is that students will retain their access even after graduation, so teaching them the benefits of this resource now can literally go with them as they go out into the world. The steps for setting up an account are simple.

  1. Go to your web browser and access formed.org.
  2. The home screen will have a button to “sign up,” and you should click this button.
  3. Choose the 3rd option, “I belong to a Parish or Organization.”
  4. In the box to “find your parish or organization” type in 52804, and select Assumption High School. Click “Next.”
  5. Enter your name (first and last, please) and your email address.
  6. Click “Sign up.”

We also encourage you to add the formed app on any devices that you have, as viewing media content and accessing information on the go is easy to do with your formed access in a more mobile format.  This can be found easily by searching “formed.org” on the app store.

Freshman Parents – Teacher Treats – January 14

It’s time again to show our love and support for the fabulous faculty and staff at AHS! Knight Network is providing teacher treats on Tuesday, January 14th. We are asking for Freshman parent volunteers. Food donations can be dropped off in the AHS Front Office any time Tuesday morning after 7:00 a.m. If you have a container you would like returned, please remember to label it. If you know what you plan to bring, please put that in the notes on the sign-up. Thank you so much for your support of our AHS community!

AHS Parent Prayer Group

Please join us for a special prayer opportunity at Assumption High School.   Each Thursday at 9:00 AM, our entire Assumption family (parents, grandparents, alumni, etc.) is invited to gather in the AHS Chapel for prayer.  We pray for the students (each by name, one class per week), pray for the students’ intentions (prayer boxes are available in several of the teachers’ rooms), intentions for our entire AHS community, and then conclude praying the Rosary together.  Come as you are and come when you are able and your schedule allows.  Although many of you may work during the day and may not be able to join us, please know, we are happy to lift any intentions you may have and we ask that you remember our prayer gathering and join us in spirit.

If and when you can join, just simply use the main entrance, register in the school office and find your way to the Chapel…if you aren’t yet familiar with AHS, the office staff or other parents will guide the way!  And PLEASE do not let praying the Rosary deter you – we are all at different levels with this powerful prayer and can learn and grow together.
