The Iowa Quad Cities College Fair 2023

The Iowa Quad Cities College Fair 2023

Private and public colleges, universities and technical schools will assemble for the area’s largest college fair—The Iowa Quad Cities College Fair 2023 on Monday, October 9 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

The fair, sponsored by the Iowa Quad Cities College Program (IQCCP), is free to the public and will take place at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges’ Urban Campus in downtown Davenport, 101 W. Third St. Parking is available on streets directly around the campus, in the Harrison Ramp located in the 300 block of West Second Street, or the Redstone Parking Ramp located in the 100 block of West River Drive. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with admissions representatives and learn more about admissions requirements, financial aid, course offerings, and campus life.

“As the college admissions landscape changes, students and families need to learn about opportunities, choices and resources available to help further their education,” said Tishly Herrington, Associate Director for Postsecondary Transition at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. “Taking the time to visit with a representative is such a great way to get a glimpse of what an institution can offer students. It provides a first contact and conversation.”

The fair is open to all high school students and their families, whether attending an Iowa Quad Cities school or another school outside the immediate area, as well as those across the river in Illinois.  The Quad Cities College Fair 2023 is organized by Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, St. Ambrose University and the Quad Cities area high schools including Assumption, Bettendorf, Davenport Central, Davenport Mid-City, Davenport North, Davenport West, North Scott and Pleasant Valley.

AHS Parents in Prayer Group – Every Thursday at 9 AM – All Are Welcome!

The AHS Prayer Group invites all parents, alumni, and friends of AHS to join us for Rosary.  We will gather each Thursday in the AHS Chapel at 9 AM. This is a unique and special prayer opportunity.  We pray for the students (each by name, one class per week), pray for the students’ intentions (prayer boxes are available in several of the teachers’ rooms), intentions for our entire AHS community, and then conclude praying the Rosary together. Come as you are and come when you are able and your schedule allows (Please enter using the main entrance).  Although many of you may work during the day and may not be able to join us, please know, we are happy to lift any intentions you may have and we ask that you remember our prayer gathering and join us in spirit.

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony – Save the Date!

Please join us for the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, October 11th at 7 p.m. in the Sunderbruch Auditorium.  It will be our great pleasure to welcome the new junior and senior members to the Society – as well as celebrate our returning senior members.  Students should arrive at 6:30 p.m. and proceed to the gymnasium for instructions.  Students are encouraged to wear modest “business casual” attire. School uniforms are also quite acceptable!

The purpose of the St. Pius XII National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, and develop character in students.  After a review of the potential candidates based on the above criterion, new members are selected by the National Honor Society Faculty Council.  Inductees are encouraged to serve their community by offering academic assistance through peer tutorials, as well as engaging in a group service project.  New members will be alerted of their acceptance status on or before September 20th.  Please contact the moderator, Kelly Bush, at Kelly.bush@assumptionhigh.org with any questions. We hope to see you there!
